Turn Signal Problem

I'm having a turn signal problem.

Let me start by giving some particulars. 03 1800R, Kuryakyn R/T/B and headlight modulator.

The turn signals are working but when they are on they blink erratically. They will blink normal then all of a sudden they blink very fast, then normal then fast.

Any ideas?

I know they shouldn't have anything to do with each other, but try disconnecting the headlight modulator and see if it makes a difference. Just something to try.

On a side note, I know a local that has this and his signals are not led, there was something that he had to take off, a jumper or something like that, if not it would act weird and then the fuse would pop. It has to do with LED bulbs, helps it so they don't flash fast, I can find out what it was if you can't find anything else on it.

Why do you mention the headlight modulator?

What kind of lights do you have in your blinkers?

Does the RTB come with an Electronic Flasher built in?

I have a '03 1800 S and have led blinkers and needed to add an electronic flasher so the blinkers would blink correctly.

That is pretty strange. Have you looked to see if when they speed up that both are still working, front and back?

How long has the unit worked? Or did you just install it?

Changed any bulbs recently? To LED maybe?

Almost sounds like the flasher has gone bonkers.

I've had problems with older bikes when the flasher got worn out it would do things like that. Also in some in some cases when the RTB module is installed it will isolate the load of the rear turnsignals thus by making the flash rate increase. if a load eq is not installed. It also sounds like you could have a bad connection some where.

Headlight modulator should have no bearing on the operation of your turnsignals unless you did some funky wiring.
