Question Highway Bars for 2002 VTX 1800C

I just joined the VTX Club with a 2002 VTX 1800C. I would like to add highway bars to it and I really like the cobra fatty's, but they don't make them for my year/model. What are some recommended comparable "fatty" alternatives?

I recently just bought some new crash bars also. You should check out www.cruisercustomizing.com. This site lets you enter your bike info and it will let you know what components are compatible with your model and which ones aren't. I just got a set for right about $200 after shipping. I plan on putting them on tonight. My only concern is a potential need for spacers for it to mount properly. Good luck.

Actually, since you are here on the original VTXOA, click the banner at the top of the page and you can do the same thing. Then enter your email with them and you will see when they have sales. Right now, until midnight tonight, Direct Line Parts has a sale and you'll get another 10% off . Just enter "SUPERBOWL" in the coupon box.

Direct Line has sponsored this board since the VTX was released over 10 years ago. They have provided this great site for free to any and all that ride bikes for free help and finding friends that ride the VTX. It would be good to help pay them back by using their parts warehouse

I put Paladins on my bike, I really like them and the way they look. They are two piece bars. They have saved me a couple of times from fall over incidents.

I've been happy with MC Enterprise bars. They have the fatter look and pretty sturdy.

Always my 1st recomendation. Look & fit great and VERY strong. Stood up to a 35 MPH crash and high side flip with no bend.

I don't like crash bars but for safety reasons they are necessary. I went for Hepco & Becker. They even look nice on the C model.

See thread: http://www.vtxoa.com/forums/showthre...t=hepco+becker

This is what I bought. I hate to admit but they don't look as horrible as I was expecting. I don't like the look of any crash bars but they certainly have their purpose.

Install was pretty easy. Took less than an hour. I'm not very patient so when the multiple washer/spacers kept falling off, I got a little frusturated but overall it went well.
