Need help installing OEM HEATED GRIPS

I ordered the kit for the 1300's because I had read somewhere on one of these forums that they are compatible with the 1800. I have a 2002 C model. Does anyone have some insight as to how I can wire these to work? They came with instructions but things don't match up to what my bike has. Any assistance will be tremendously appreciated!

The VTX didn't have heated grip options so they aren't OEM really. Unless you purchased these for a VT Stateline 1300 which is not a VTX model. Shouldn't be too hard though, find a place to wire them into the electrical system somewhere

This is a link to the same ones I have but significantly more expensive! It has connections to tie in to the brake circuit and some other weird things. Much more difficult than the OEM heated grips I installed on my Honda ST1300. This

Excellent advice provided so far, but I would like to add that there is a thread on the cafe about them...

http://www.vtxcafe.com/showthread.ph...p-installation

They do sell them on Cruisercustomizing.com for slightly more, http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/ho...-08T50-EWA-100, but provide no install instructions for them there.

Of course you have Mike's website that informs you how to find the accessory wire on the 1800:

http://tech.bareasschoppers.com/elec...ry-power-lead/

If you're still stuck, I highly recommend getting on www.bareasschoppers.com and posting on the 1800 forum. Mike is usually very good about getting back to people ASAP.

I hope this helped you some.

What are you exactly having trouble with?

I couldn't find any of the connections in the headlight bucket or by the fuse box that I was supposed to tie in to.
