I got them from HDL many years ago but they are no more available and only fit the 1800c model(brand: Big Bike Parts). They are plastic and chrome plated but qualiy is very good and they only cost a fraction of the stock covers. So since you have a R model google: Honda VTX 1800R chrome side covers

brothers in arms:
2003 VTX 1800C (forever)
2002 HD FLSTF since 07/2008

I agree with Randman, A bit pricey and you can't just set on a few at the same time. And after installing and riding them, I believe you can't return it. The only seat I have sat on is a couple Mustang seats and not impressed. I have been my eyes on the Ultimate Lowrider. I usually ride for hours at a time and ride for days, just wondering if anyone has any advise about this seat.

Those that have an Ultimate seat love them. Those of us that don't have Ultimate seats envy those that do.

I've been thinking about getting an Ultimate Big Boy. I like the mustang touring seat but it puts me more forward than I would like. I'm 6'3" and weigh around 250. I could use a bit more room between the tank The 03 VTX1800 R I have has a gas tank that sticks out and is uncomfortable when your pushed too close to it. Looks like some of the other or later models have a slightly different tank.

Does anyone have the Ultimate Big Boy? Does it sit you farther back as claimed?

I got the Ultimate Big Boy seat. It does move you back a lot farther than the Mustang. I was able to compare them side by side, having both. I would say if your 6 ft or taller you'll like the Ultimate Big Boy better.

I bought the ultimate drivers seat without passenger to save a bit of cash. I modified the stock passenger seat by cutting off a couple of inches and stapling the vinyl back. It looks a little mismatched but not too bad.

I guess I could sell the Mustang Wide Touring seat set if any body wants it.

The Mustang seems like it is built a little nicer, but it had me pushed too close to the tank.

Update: Sold the Mustang seat to one of the guys on the forum.

I have a question on the ultimate seats. I am 5'11" and about 235. I have always been ok with the position of the OEM seat, but desperately would like to upgrade. I owned a Corbin on another bike and liked it just fine. However I have heard really good things about the ultimate. Do they make a seat that does not change rider position? I really do not want to move closer or away from the tank.

I have both the Corbin young guns (likely for sale shortly) and just purchased the mustang sport touring 2-piece seat. The Corbin rider seat is very firm but comfy, the passenger "seat" is HARD as nails more for aero-look IMHO. The mustang sits noticeably higher but is very comfy for rider and passenger.

I'm 5'-10" tall, 210-215 lbs and 31" inseam for reference.

If you only ever ride solo the Corbin looks sportier but if you carry a passenger at all get the mustang or something else.
