1800 "FI" light

Hope someone can steer me in the right direction. 2004 1800 with 33k. Great machine for several years. Always ride during the winter and park the bike with a full tank to keep the gas fresh with fuel stabilizer as I am not able to ride as much (St. Louis).
Today bike began to do what I will refer to as "lurch/sputter/chug" during highway speeds. The "FI" light flashes as this begins to happen.
Plugs not changes in 3 years (6k). Fuel filter? Injectors? Any guidance would be appreciated. Just trying to sound a little more intelligent if I have to take it into the shop.

Tighten your battery cables, if it still does it, do the "Ground Fix" as seen on the How To Step by Step board. You only have to do the "Common Electronics Ground" section

What Spike said plus when you first turn the key on does the FI light flash several times or stay steady until the fuel pump is primed? You can check troubleshooting here...http://tech.bareasschoppers.com/reso...odes-vtx-1800/

Also a good idea to save that web site for future reference, especially if you don't want to pay stealership to work on your bike when most of them know nothing about the VTX!
