Muzzy Exhaust baffle noise after removal

I have this setup on a 2004 VTX 1800C. I got the baffle out, took all the fiberglass off and reinstalled the metal baffle and endcap. Still wanting a bit more loudness I took it out and cut the baffle down to the support washer that is welded to the baffle in the middle. Now I have a rattle on acceleration and deceleration. I'm thinking the washer is hitting the inside off the pipe and I should cut it off as well. I tried just the endcap alone but had a strange whistling noise on deceleration. Do you know what caused the whistling noise?

I gave you your own thread seeing as that other one was 12 years old and the last activity by any of the members was over 7 years ago. You wouldn't get answers from them

Flip the endcap the other way , and put it as far to the back of the pipe as you can. Have to drill new hole to fasten. Been years since I touched mine.
