Fuel System Question

I have a 2005 1800N with an external fuel pump. I installed a quick disconnect & fuel filter in the "gravity" feed line from the top tank to the lower tank. The disconnect automatically shuts off flow from the tank with the filter below that (no pressure?). I wanted to clean my filter yesterday & when I disconnected my fuel line, gas started back feeding through my filter (up from the lower tank) & out of the line. Grabbed a gas can & captured about 2 gals before it stopped flowing. Not at high pressure but enough to push it up & out from the lower tank. Should this line be under pressure at all?

I don't know (nor do I care) how many attended Trump's inauguration. But I can tell you exactly how many people attended Hillary's inauguration.

And that's the only number that really matters.

you're simply siphoning the tank.

Can't happen the end of hose is 8-10 inches ABOVE lower tank!

Did you disconnect the fuel return line? Do you have quick disconnect on that, too?

Garage
A view of the fuel pump with the fuel line to pump and the vent line in the same cavity can
siphon fuel. I do not know at what level the vent line is in the tank.

Yes it can, when ever I take my tank off my 2008 vtx1800n I'm prepared to stop fuel flow out of the tank and the hoses I take off it... It's quite irritating Honda couldn't use some leakeless disconnect on these lines since gas will pour out both sides.. Clearly these is no check valve any where.. Lol
