So now that I've finally decided to join the 21st century and put a real GPS on the bike, I decided to try pairing it to the Droid and Scala. The phone connected and works great, but the Scala is another story.
The Garmin sees and recognizes the Scala G4, assigns it a pass code number, but fails to connect.
Has any one tried this or something similar with a 3590? I'm getting the feeling that it will only support 1 device. I'd really love to hear the GPS in my helmet....
According to this link from Garmin however, your model will not work with a BT headset unless it supports the hands-free profile and has a Bluetooth version of 1.1 or higher.
Might need to update the Scala firmware?

I have a garmin 1490. I think it could be an order of operations thing, but not sure. I have a Sena headset system though. In the headset manual, there are multiple configurations supported and it has several pictures of how to do all the pairings.
I think you might need to pair your headset to your phone first and then pair the garmin to the phone. Then, the garmin pushes it's sound through the phone to the Scala. Again, I am not sure about this, but I don't think you can pair both the phone and the garmin to your headset and have that work, but I could be wrong.
I'm a local guy for you and Computer based stuff is what I do. I'm like to Joe Shaw of electronics. Bother me anytime bro!
