I have the AM21 on my stock 1300C rim, I love it doesn't make my bike faster or give it more power but it is a better ride all around specially since I ride in he rain and the cold still waiting for snow so I can ride in the snow once. But I will feel confident with the tire I have to be able to ride in the snow without it sliding out to a side on me. With that said here is a side view and back view.

230?? is that on a 1300 15" rim ? is it pinched at all?

I keep stats on my tires and oil. Tried Metz me880 once and barely got 3,000 when the belt began showing. I was a stickler with psi in the tire. I sent it back to Metzeler and they refused to warranty it. Never again!

I would go darkside if I could find someone to mount it.

I guess I'll try Michelin Commander II. I've read guys are seeing 15K. Never gotten that on a bike.

Tires are a big deal to me because I buy them online, take them to be mounted, and it ends up being a small fortune for the whole ordeal. Bridgestones I have now are approaching 10K and close to needing to be replaced.

Front..m880...150/80-17, rear...m888...170/80-15. I ran the 140 on front slot, just changed to the 150 in the last 10000 miles

Yes it is. but it is ok that tire can handle it. I put 8K on it this year has plenty of tread left thinking I will get at least 20K out of it and I am an everyday rider about 9 months of the year.

I read up on it in this thread

It isn't.

IMO - the avons perform pretty well.
Since you have a 1300, you cant compare 1800 tire experiences.
The 1800 eats tires up

How the hell do you get that sort of mileage on them unless in the back of a truck? You must be a very gentle rider. Im not doubting you but I am lucky to get 10,000

My 2 cents.
Last rear was the 1st time I went from Dunlop to Metzler. Love the grip taking off from the Metzler, but felt that it tended to lose traction in the curves.

Performance vs endurance

From all I've ever read about motorcycle tires, if you're looking for performance, you'll sacrifice some endurance. Sport tires are typically a softer/stickier compound for grip at high speeds, whereas Touring and general use tires are a harder compound for long life.

Here is a link to a good read on tires that might help:
https://www.revzilla.com/common-trea...ires-101-guide

Two of the top brands popular among riders on this we site are AVON and METZELER. Unless you'll actually be racing with them, or regularly dragging your knees in twisty turns, I think you'll be wasting money on "sport" tires that wear out fast.

Good luck on your choice.

Its only about 15000 per set. I had one set got 17000 out of.....no fast take offs, no hard braking. Unless its practice at the tires end, then I like to slide the bike a few times to keep a feel for it...........
