Memorable Vehicles

Just replied to post on VTX longevity, where some of us listed vehicles we wish we (car guys) never got rid of. Thought it would be interesting to share a little nostalgia about our most memorable rides. Here are mine over my 78+ years:
Corvettes: 56, 63 convt., 64 coupe, 65 coupe, 65 convt., 67 coupe, 69 427 Coupe. Also; 56 Chevy 2 door H/T with power pack, pristine 64 Impala S/S and 60 Triumph TR3A that was great fun except for downdraft carbs and electrical problems. AHHH! those were the days my friend.

I wish as a 19yr old... I hadn't bought this car to drive... It should have been put in a museum.
In 1979 I bought this 1968 Mercury Cougar with only 18000 original miles. But, being a "kid" It was purchased to drive. Wish I had treated her better (bad Pa roads)... miss her terribly....
PS- That's my Car and my wife circa 1983, and yes...... that's my Studebaker in the background as well...

No answer... so.. #2,

65 Impala SS 409,, 4 speed ( Factory ).,,,,, Photo date 1969.
notice no Chevy emblem or fender flags or cubic inch numbers.
SS, 409, (2) 4bbl, duel point distribator. high lift cam, electric fuel pump, Hooker headers. with dumps.
Am radio with add-on Fm,,,,, 8 track tape, with reverb.....
4 tail lights changed to 6 tail lights... with 69 Charger reverse lights in rear bumper...
1967 Thunderbird Sequencer for turn signals lights.
when exploded the 409... got a 67 396 from a crashed Corvette.. updated it to 427, (2) 4 bbl and hotter cam...
do to rear control arms for rear end... back half of frame was replaced with 1969 Caprice converterable frame... and reinforced at control arms..
had 3 complete rear ends..... 3.55 open,,,,, 4.11 posi. 5,13 posi.. I could change rear end in 45 minutes.
YES, the fog lights are from a 1967 Mustang GT.
a Very Fast Street Car...

this car set or broke several local track records... never lost on the street..
my street name was "The Hammer"... 400 lights all day.
the "Car" name was the "The Angry One"..... I washed it off on Sunday nights

No answer #3, bikes

72 CB750,, photo is 1973... yes I disassembled a New 500 mile bike.

fall 1972... pulled engine... installed 850 kit.. aftermarket camshaft and lighten rocker arms.. electronic instead of points,,. over sized intake and exhaust valves...did machine work to carburetors for better flow of fuel...

headers and very short mufflers (Jardene)... upgraded chain and sprockets from a 530 to 630..
re-polished valve cover, block sanded and polished top fin of engine... did all case parts..
10 inch over front end... lowered rear 2 inches..
Blacked out cylinders...

No 900 Kaw could keep up.. track of street.

Before the WAR.... of the gifted and the Rich kid...

mom on welfare.... NO dad (father). 3 kids at home. YES mom also worked...even with welfare... (mostly medical )

. I work since I was 11..... mechanic since I was 13...

quit school at 16.
(after being stabbed 2 different times inside of school building)..
worked 2 full time jobs.. to help family.. and support my love of cars and bikes... got GED at 23.

see above I had 2 good cars stolen.. and both times the insurance company also stole from me...
I ended up owing the bank and parts stores.

so all the above was done the hard way... I worked 2 full time jobs for 20 years... at 25, I owned my own home. first time the family owned a home in more than 150 years.

and did it JUST wrenching on old used cars... 6 months a year in cold rain and deep snow.
.
. a little PROOF... above 2 photos... brick streets in late 1960's and early 1970's in Cleveland Oho east side...
( The Ghetto )
.do not feel sorry for me or my wife.. We Got Out.. with no help from anyone.

I don't know (nor do I care) how many attended Trump's inauguration. But I can tell you exactly how many people attended Hillary's inauguration.

And that's the only number that really matters.
