I saw something on the news about two weeks ago regarding flooding further upriver.

Mississippi River - I grew up in New Orleans area, ships,Towboats and barges made for interesting sights.
I worked at a shipyard briefly, LNG tankers, Zapata Oil Rigs were under construction.
Propeller shaft line bore, welding cast steel prop/rudder section to steel plate sections were interesting
things I saw.
A few notable high water marks were made.

Holy cow. How close did the water get to "Memphis in May"?
It's never flooded , but come with in a couple of feet several times.....once I went down in a boat and was able to step out of the boat onto a low spot on Riverside Drive ...they had pumps working to clear the street...
