Checking oil level on VTX1300

I recently discovered that my has beeb running a quart low of oil for approximately 1500 miles. The 05 owner's manual is incorrect on the method for checking the oil level. My question is this; will running my VYX1300 a quart low for 1500 miles hurt the engine? Let me know.

I don't think it will hurt anythin, but if you haven't already, you should post this on one of the tech boards. You'll probably get a lot more responses over there. :)
I'm still fairly new to this site also, but I think this forum is mainly for your own records, other people will take a look once in a while, but not very often. So if you have questions you'll get a lot more answers on the other board, and some people will bring things up that you may not have thought about. I hope this helps.
