Anyone out there using the Garmin Quest GPS and of all things the Garmin Bicycle mount which fits the handlebars on the VTX perfectly.
I really lile the Quest simple and very accurate. Twenty hours per battery charge when used outside the car.
I have the mount installed and the unit mounting base is very secure.

Any feed back from Quest users?

Thanks,
MarvC

I have the Quest with the handlebar mount. I use Mapsource to create my routes for my annual 8 - 9 day rides on the computer, then download them to my Quest.

When this one breaks, I will replace it with the same thing.

I use the quest all the time in the car, a fantastic tool. Do you drill or need an adaptor plate when using the Garmin Motorcycle mounting kit?

The handlebar mount seems secure enough, I would hate for the unit to pop out of the mount while on the highway. I guess it is held fairly secure!

MarvCI made a bracket out of 1/4" aluminum plate and a P Clamp. It's very secure, and the motorcycle mount has a locking mechanism to keep the unit from falling off.

I have never had a problem with the Question popping out of the holder. It does have some play in the handlebar holder, but it's secure enough.

Just finished laying out an eight day ride through New Mexico and loading all the routes in. It is great for organizing rides.

It's really nice to have when you are leading other bikes down unknown roads.

Mine has beed great, I got the Garmin motorcycle mount for it, its a bit pricy, but has a lock on it so the unit wont pop out, LOL, I drilled and tapped holes in the top plate for the tripple tree clamp, and can take the whole thing off easaly.

I would have done that, but I use it in the car. I got the motorcycle mount, and the handle bar mount to try, I like the motorcycle mount the best, its just like the car one that comes with it, but, it has hard wireing, with a ear bud jack, so if I want I can run it off the battery, and plug in the ear bud, to get voice comands.

I too use the Garmin marine mount kit on my bike. They didn't have the Motorcycle kityet. Really like how fast you can unlock it and take it with you when you get off the bike. It's very secure and will not let the Quest fall off!

I use ram mounts to connect to the handlebar and get no vibration.

Here is a link to the kit:
