I have read about a number of bike tips ranging from using Lemon Pledge on your chrome (makes it super shiny and lemon scented) to using a leafblower to quick dry the bike.

What tips do you have?

Have to order some more, I like it a little better than Honda stuff...

Ride more and you won't need a leaf blower.

Duck,

I am thinking the leafblower is used to dry the bike prior to waxing. Going out on the road might work too but it could get dirty again also.

A chamois is cheaper and a ride to dry it is another reason to ride 8)
Ever hear of S100 foaming cleaner?A freind of mine said it works great just spray it on the bike and hose it off,no wash mitt no bucket just rinse off.He said it works great for the hard to reach spots and the wrinkle finish on his motor.
The only place he has seen it is at the Harley dealer,he has a Harley. He told me HD stands for high dollar with a big grin.

Pretty sure they have S100 foaming at Chips in Northbridge. Also thought they had it at GBM. Not 100% on that though...

I have a friend or two with H-Ds. They say it stands for Hundred Dollars because that's what you drop every time you go to the H-D store/dealer.

I will hafta look into this S100 stuff.

Any other tips?

I have seen some where folks use a lanyard to keep from losing their side covers on other models. Is that an issue with the VTX?

He did say don't get it in the pump bottle because it doesn't work as good as the spray can.
I hope my covers don't fall off

S100 is the best thing since email.

I have the pump and no complaints. It has a nozzle with a manual sprayer attachment and about 10' of hose under it. I think one year I did have to clean out the attachment, maybe that's the reason your friend prefers the aerosol, Duck. Personally I like the big container because it is more cost effective and I don't have to worry about running out. You will use it and your friends will come over to use it, too.

Believe it or not, it does a superlative job on SPOKES! No more sitting there shining each spoke individually. It removes all the crap that comes off the brakes, etc.

I used to use the Honda product, now I only use S100. I got mine at Bettencourts Honda in W. Bridgewater. I think I've also seen it in some catalogs.

Warning....if you do several bikes at a time, all in the same spot, it will damage the grass. But as I've said before, the yard is a very distant second to the bike, anyhow.

To far for me the bike would be dry but dirty by the time I get home

I'm a social creature, a day of bike detailing sounds more fun with a group than alone. Everyone is welcome.

:)

Right now my bike is so dirty I'm ashamed of it. Gotta get some work done on it this weekend. When I ride to work it gets filthy, all the dust and dirt flying around in the air...yuk.

I was chilled to the bone when I got done with my ride last night, wish I'd worn the heated gear.

I've found out really quick that living on a private dirt road is awesome for privacy, but hell on keeping the bike shiny like new!
