We used them years ago for aircraft - But with the garmins and lowrance's so cheap now they seem to be a little more complicated than they need to be.

I haven't used the iQue, but I did try one on my iPaq for quite some time.
Its not worth the aggravation. It wasn't fast enough to recalculate if you missed your turn before you missed your turn again while it recalced again and again and again. Basically you just pull over and let it finish, then go on again.
I got my Garmin 2610 and couldnt be happier with it on my bike or in my truck.

I am using a Garmin Ique M3. It is good for me because I use it in multiple vehicles as well as the PDA at work. If you are not really going to use it for the PDA function I would not buy this unit. It is a bit hard to see in direct sunlight and as stated above the recalculation is slower than most of the stand alone units. Garmin has come out with a firmware upgrade that is supposed to speed up the recalc, but I have not installed it yet. If I were to do it again I would by the palm version of the Ique. The redraw ins much faster, or I would look at the Garmine 60CX. My son has the 60 CX on his scoot and it is very fast and has alot of features.

I had one that I used on my bike.
Pros: It's small, compact and easy to take along. The LCD is also pretty large compared to hand held units. I put a 1GB chip in mine and had about 80% of the US on it with all the way points. Recalc times were not a problem and battery life was good. It is a PDA with numerous other non-GPS functions.
Cons: Can't see the display in bright sunlight. Pretty much need to use a stylus for most data input. Not waterproof although a RAM aquabox mount may resolve this issue. I got caught in a rainstorm with mine and it took me two days and a lot of anxiety to dry it out and hope it still worked. It did recover but I think I was lucky.
