Anyone using this mount for Garmin Etrex Vista. I read where vibration could cause unit to loose power if using internal batteries instead of external power source. Would like to know if anyone is experiencing any problems with this mount before I order one.

Have had that problem with my Garmin 176 (yeah she's old). On smooth roads (like you can find them  ) it's fine and even on the roughest roads, she'll just reset herself. Make sure you have fresh batteries and good clean terminals - have a authorized Garmin shop put new battery springs/prongs in if they're corroded or weak.

Later gator....

I use a RAM mount with my Garmin V.........I used to have athe problem you talk about....unit would shut down due to vibration.....

The V is notorious for having weak battery springs....Garmin provides, free of charge, a special spring insert that fixes the problem......they may have such a thing for the Vista. WIth the insert installed the unit works just fine on batteries (although I went ahead and hard wired 12v for it).

I also use a RAM mount on my bicycle.

Great mounts.

We tried a Ram Mount but it didn't hold our Garmin 2610 GPS securely enough. Found the Techmount to be great. Even when my husband went down on his bike last Memorial Day weekend, the GPS remained secure & was not damaged at all.
