The ride is in the working stage. So any input will help solidify everything.

Looking to do the Floral City to Ozello Trail ride again. Those that went can testify to how nice of a ride it is.

I've got some variations to the route so those that went last time can expect some different roads. Unless we get stuck behind another harley pack of slow movers!!!

Rescheduled for May 21st.

Let's ride!!

Nic,
This weekend is out for me. Going out of town most of Sat(I'm hoping to be back in time for the Z-hills bike fest). Then with Sunday being Mother's Day, if I disappeared, I would piss off all three of the women that mean anything to me. Life would be hell.

but let's talk about the next weekend.....

I'm from up north of Inverness in Hernando and would be glad to ride down and meet you guys in Floral City and do the Ozello Trail ride with you. Sure would like to meet some of you. Sounds like a good time. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Lucky13- by the time they get to Floral city they've already gone thru 2 hours of great roads. You would really enjoy the ride better if you go the extra distance and meet them at the beginning (probably in Land o' Lakes). It is well worth it.

Well. Guess I could start out at the beginning and ride the Trail and when we come back out to 19 and you "southerners" head towards home I could go ahead and head for home. It's only about 12 or 13 miles to my place from the Trail. :mcrider:

Yeah, I forgot it was mother's day. So let's reschedule to next weekend. Tentively scheduled for May 20th or 21st.

Lucky 13,

You really should meet us at the beginning of the ride. I know it's a haul for you but it's well worth it.

As for the rest of you scallywaggers, mark your calendars for May 21st. We'll meet at the same place as last time.

McDonald's parking lot on Hwy 41 and 54. Kick stands up by 9am.

I've got some new roads in mind so don't be suprised if the route is a little different.

It's only about an hour or so to meet you at that MickeyD's so I am going to try to make it. So the title says the 21st so that's the date I'm marking on the calender. I think my wife will be with me. See you at 9am. I know right where it's at. :mcrider:

Sounds like a plan.

We will be leaving at 9am so try to be there a little early and have a full tank of gas. Maybe we can beat the Harley's out this time.

I am new to the site and saw that you guys were planning on riding this Sunday and I wanted to know if I could tag along. I live in brandon and would be willing to make the journy to Floral City and then onto the Ozello Trail. I am not quite sure where the meeting place is so maybe someone could post the directions for me. By the way I have a 06 VTX 1300C. Thanks

OK. Guess I need to ask this since I've never rode with you guys before. My wife doubles with me. Do you guys usually ride solo or is it pretty routine to have doubles in the group when you ride? My wife tells me that she's OK either way. :mcrider:

blue13s
05-17-2006, 09:18 PM
two questions

1: is this going to be ALL day, or more like half a day?
2: what's our speed going to be like? is this a "scrape the pegs" ride, or more of a "cruise" ride?

I ride solo...my wife does not like to ride...she's so crazy. I'm cool with whomever rides..solo...boyfriend and girlfriend..husband and wife. I say bring your wife, it should be a fun ride.

LUCKY13, My wife and I ride 2 up.

Blue13s,
1) The last time we rode together up there we stopped for lunch at a seafood restaurant at the end of Ozello trail. Wife and I came straight home after that and were back at early afternoon. Nic and Bob retraced some of the twisties and took a longer ride back.
2) It's a "cruise ride", with lots of twisties

How many bikes do you figure so far? I count at least 6. I have never met any of you folks, but would like to. I also ride 2 up with the little lady, so a "cruise ride" would be optimal. She has heard about some of the wilder rides and prefers to avoid them. We have ridden Floral City and 48 and 480 and a few of the other roads up there already and like to head that way whenever we can. My biggest concern about making this ride is whether or not my bike will be out of the "hospital" in time. Took it in for the 12000 mile service and a few other things last Friday. One of those was a water leak. Turns out the water pump was bad. They had to order it. It will either be Friday or Monday when it gets here. Hoping for Friday.

New to the scene, saw your ride coming up. Live in Brandon. Silly question but is it just for vtx's. My buddy and I were going to go riding Sunday (he has a yam 1100). Might like to join you if there's room. If you have time give me some more info and let me know if other makes are welcome. I've got an 06 1300 and am loving it but need more room to roam.... thanks.... 8)

I am not the organizer of this ride and don't even know (yet) any of the folks who are going myself. But, I have been a member of the forum for almost 2 years now and my experience is that the folks are pretty much all really nice and do not discriminate based on make, creed or gender of motorcycle. I would have to believe that especially since you own a VTX and the other bike is a buddy of yours that there would be no objection. I personally would never object, but due to my own bike being in service and not being sure if it will be done in time I can't even say if I will be there. Hopefully, you will get feedback from others.
P.S. Welcome to the scene and forum. How long have you had your VTX?

Chefbob and I are planning on meeting somewhere on I-75 for the ride up to Ozello Trail. Chefbob is coming from Sarasota and I live in Brandon. Is anyone else interested in meeting us for the ride up??? I know that we are waiting to here for Segentnic who I think lives somewhere in Riverview. Once we find out if anyone wants to meet us for the ride up, then we will determine a spot to gather. See you all on Sunday.

Also I see no problem with the yamaha tagging along it's the Harley I worry about leaking oil on the road in front of me LOL just kidding.

It was a pleasure to meet some of riders we see on the computer screen. Thanks goes to chefbob for taking the lead and keeping us together and on some of the most beautiful countryside in Florida. This ride just proved why I love living here in Florida.
Hope everyone gets home safe and sound and enjoyed the day as much as we did.
Lunch was great a Pecks and they treated us all well, I believe. Hope to see you all very soon.
