I have been looking into buying a Lawrance iway500c ,but I have noticed a lot of people having horror stories about these units and others very happy with theirs. Should I chance it and get one or go with another gps unit.
If I go with the iway how do you hook it up to a 1300s and what do I need? :?

We've had ours for 7 months and no problems with it. I don't use it everyday, but I do use it alot if nothing more than listening to music.

I can't tell which way to decide to go. I can only tell you of my experiences.

It's a real LOVE / HATE issue.

Great unit, when it's working - I just love it. In five weeks I have already returned four of them. The current one, is working great except when it's cold out, it has the dim screen issue which was fixed in Version 1.5, which my unit has?

Would I buy it again - I don't know, but if Lowrance ever works out their quality/software issues, there would be no choice in my mind, and I think the other manufactures of GPS would be in trouble.

I'm very frustrated with the problems, but I like the unit so much more than the Garmin 2610 I had. Which was totally problem free.

Don't know if that helps at all - great unit if your lucky enought to get a working one!
