I'm 6'4", 235 lbs, pant size 36L x 38W. I have a 2002 VTX 1800R, with the Ultimate Big Boy seat and back rest, Honda Line engine guard and foot pegs.

After riding for a couple of hours I start to go "Numb" - not on the tail bone, but further forward - just behind the "family jewels". I try to change seating positions, lean back, use the foot pegs, but to no avail.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any suggestions how to correct this?

Rick

Are you new on the bike? Ive never had it on my x and ive got almost the same set up but if I dont ride my exercise bike for a while{which at 6'3" and 280lbs is often} Ill get the samething. Just a thought.

Yes - I'm a new rider - have ~ 2500 miles. Maybe it will get better with time.

If it doesn't get any better you might try an Airhawk with your Ultimate Bigboy. I just complete a 1000 mile Iron Butt and I have an Ultimate Bigboy. It started bothering me some a few hundred miles into it. I had borrowed an Airhawk from a friend to try if this happened. It helped a lot. I used it for about 200 miles and then finished the ride without it. HDL has them and you can check Airhawk's web site for information.

My brother had the same problem. Turns out it's not from the seat, it's from sitting spread legged (straddle a bike) and not being accustomed to it.
Dr advised stretching every day and with use, the ole bod will get used to it. Consider it your "rookie stripes"

It may not get better. I had the same problem, I think becuase I don't have a lot of natural padding on my tush. Adding a gel pad and sheepskin seat cover did the trick, especially for rides over 100 miles. The sheepskin also helps keep your tush from getting burned when you have to park in the sun too. Bonus!
