View Full Version : VTX Owner looking for Goldwing tech info

I have an oldwind - 82 1100 I am getting ready to sell off but have a problem that would not impress a buyer.

I am getting a slapping noise at idle that wasn't there before adjusting the belt tension and valve lash. It goes away around 1500 - 200rpm.
I think i messed up the valve adjustment. Can anyone offer any experience of a goldwing tech site the caliber of the vtx tech.

I can only suggest searching for Gold Wing web sites, but I don't spend time on any but the sister site here, and they are 1800-centric.

And I really hate to plug 'em (lately), but Des Plaines Honda is a pretty experienced Gold Wing shop.

Thanks everyone. I was able to find notes about the noise i was hearing and think i know what i need to know.
