I'm figuring on a 1-day up-and-back, leaving early Saturday morning so as to have lunch at the festival. What are your plans?

Leaving Friday morning but can't put a time on it yet as we need to get the kiddies somewhere. Staying over night and coming back on Saturday evening. I'm riding on a cracked spark boot and the new boot may be here but I know if it dosen't it will hold up. Supposed to be some great bands up there.
Mitch and Runner, what time were you guys pulling out? What's your route, Turnpike?

Father, maybe we could hook up for the ride back. I'm guestimating about 5 hours to get there, so to get there for lunch I'm figuring to leave about 7 am.

runner,
Good, will do for the ride back. I'll see ya up there too so we can talk. Yeah, I was wanting to leave around 7 as well but may have to drop the kiddies off the night before Five hours was my quess too. Were you thinking TPIKE?

The two-lane roads are more fun for quick jaunts, but for my one-day plans, the tpk's the way to go.

I really wish the turnpike's gas stops were 100 miles apart instead of about70, though. Or that the 1800C's gas tank was bigger!

5 hours up, 5 hours back, 1 hour for lunch.............when do you guys figure on checking out the fest?

If I go, it will be a last minute thing, but I would stay over 1 night. Leave Sat am, back Sunday PM.

Sounds right... I'm leaving 8am Friday and will start back 3 or 4 pm Sat. See ya up there. BTW, I saw you at Hooters two weeks ago and tried to catch up with you but I quess I lost you in the crowd.

How do you actually go? Tpk to Exit 285, and then 27 into Leesburg?

(I get 160-170 miles before my reserve light comes on.)

Hey Father X............sorry I missed you. I go every once in awhile, but let me know if you plan on going again.

The map (http://www.leesburgbikefest.com/location.htm) indicates that exit 285 from the turnpike, and then 27, is the shortest route from down here.

Whatever you guys do - Avoid 98, 27 and 60 around the Lake Wales area up through into Lakeland.

Its under heavy construction.
