Hi Jon,
How are things going for you, I'm glad to see you are back and enjoying this great NW rain  It's killing me right now, I have three houses I need to get painted and I can't get much done when it's like this.
Take care and ride safe!

Yea, I've been back for 2 weeks now. I rode the first week and now this last week has been ugh. Are you still working at the docks??? And, whats this about moving to AZ??? If that's the case, I'll have someone else to visit down there. Also, what's going on with your bike???

I'm still working in the docks but only part time, so I'm doing my business on the side (Home Remodeling)
I will be moving to Florence, Az next year in May, I had a great job offer and the cost of living is cheaper not to mention the great riding weather.
As far as my bike, well lets just say it will probably not get any more miles put on it until it reaches Arizona. You are welcome at my home any time, once we get settled in down there I will let you know my address. Ride Safe!

Thanks Tim, I will definitely look you up down there. I usually get down there every year. I was born in the valley and have been missing it myself. Florence is prolly still cheap, but the rest of the valley is getting very expensive. I'm actually headed that way this summer for a visit. Please keep in touch.

Me THREE!!!   Looks like I just might take the seat and tank off the bike and install my PCIII and maybe check the valves. Not gonna be doing much riding any time soon. Weather doesn't look like it's in any hurry to cooperate, so I'm gonna take my time and drive the cage for a while. Eeesh...that's painful to say.

Thanks, Jon! Yes, I am hoping to do the valves myself. I will empty the tank as much as possible before removing. I remember that from our tech night at your place. I've only got 5400 miles on the bike right now, but since I'm going to dive into it for the PCIII and maybe the seat pin mod I might as well see what it takes to get to the valves. I've got the 4mm tappet wrench and a 10mm offset wrench. I just need to know what style of feeler guages to get. Long ones, I assume.

I plan on doing as much of my own maintenance as possible with this bike. I get great satisfaction from doing things myself. I will be sure to give you a jingle if I have any doubts or trouble. I very much appreciate you being my mechanic safety net.

And to stay on subject of this thread....I STILL hate this rain! 8)

Jon, My bike is about due for valve adjustment. Bought in Nov 05 and have almost 8000 miles on it. Interested?? I live in South Everett?? Let me know. I know this is one I don't want to tackle myself.

Hey Bev! We bought our bikes at almost the same time! I too bought my bike in Nov 05 (Nov 30, 2005 to be exact) and I just had my 8,000 mile check completed... about 913 miles late (8913 miles) but better late than never!

The mechanic said that he had to adjust every valve!! So you definitely want to have it done.

Did you get that toad-strangler on Saturday? I don't think I have ever seen it rain that hard here. Have you been able to save any of your hay? I know this has really gotta suck for you.

Jammer, please tell me it is dry on your side.. I was raised in the Tri-Cities and remember many dry sunny days. When we visited family on the west side I always wondered how they delt with the rain. Now I know.

I really like it here but sometimes wonder why I bought another motorcycle. However, I am all grown up now and will deal with the situation. Soon, I will just jump on the bike and go and go and go till it gets dry..

Saturdays rain missed us.....Tuesday got us and we are only half done, maybe finish by Monday if this next pattern holds and yes it REALLY sucks. I could have bought several new "X" for what I lost in the past 10 days   ...Oh well....happens once in a while I guess

Wish I could, but it has been rather...damp, moist, <insert your favorite understatement here>. It will dry out though...

I think we're bored. And "small talk" usually starts out with hello and a comment about the weather. Or, in this case, it starts with a rant about the weather. Jon started it. It's his fault. Jon, are you bored?

No, not bored. Only had 3 days off in 4 weeks. Side work coming out my ears. 1 1/2 cords of wood I need to split and stack. All I wanna do is take a nice long ride and not have to worry about the DA#^ rain  OK, getting off my soapbox again  I gotta go out to my shop and work on a truck for someone. Finish installing my Stebel air horn. Build 2 sets of forward brackets for C models and polish them. I think ya'll can have a nice afternoon now. I need a vacation  Maybe next week will be nice and we can have a good bike night 8)

Till then ya'll ride safe,
Jon

Nope, you certainly don't qualify for boredom. Sounds like you've been swamped! Hope you get a ride in this weekend. Weather is looking great for the next few days.

I'm off to my cousin's house today for a graduation party for his daughter. Should be fun. Haven't seen my cousins in several years. We are taking the bikes to the party just to get out and enjoy the rare glimmer of sunshine.

Take it easy, Jon!
