Im looking at upgrading to a Mustang seat for my 1800C. If I were to buy the 2 piece seat now, is it set up to add the driver backrest, or do I have to buy the 3 piece that is set up already.
I guess what I'm asking is, is there a slot in the seat to add the backrest later?
Thanks in advance.

BigMac, the way my mustsng book shows it is the pasenger seat is different between the 2pc and the 3pc
You could call Mustang 1-800-243-1392 see what they can do for you.
I sorta cringed a little paying the price for mine but after last weekends ride of 430 miles with the guys I am sure glad I did.

If you buy the 2 piece Mustang, you cannot add a backrest later. You must buy the 3 piece. I know it's pricey, but it's worth it, honest!
WELL my 2cents. I would not order the backrest typ again ONLY because it feels so good w/o. I mean if you done get the back rest, the passenger seat rides fairly high on yer back. I did get the one with the back rest and on a long ride it feels pretty good for a change. My wife really enjoys the backrest pad. it is wider and tilts forward a little. Overall I like my Mustang
dere I said it

I know the Ultimate allows you to do this. You can buy the seat with the slot and later buy the back rest. But, you must specify that at the time of the order, otherwise they will ship it without the backrest hardware. It may be different for the 1800 tho..

I went the opposite route and bought a solo with backrest knowing I could add passenger pillion later. Swear by the Mustang - 2500 miler last Summer and had no sleepy butt or back pain......
