Just thought I'd pass on this information for anyone looking for an inexpensive MP3 player.
Office Depot has the 1GB Sandisk Sansa MP3 player for $39 right now. Actually, it's $99 but it has $60 in rebates.
Sure, it's not as good as a 4GB iPod but for $39 I can't complain. It holds around 16 hours worth of MP3's or 32 hours worth of WMA's which is way more than enough for me. It even has a built in FM tuner. I didn't think the tuner would be very good but was really surprised at how clear it is.
I'm more than happy with it...... mostly because I'm cheap.

You can check it out (or even buy it) at Office Depot's site..... HERE (http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?level=SK&id=544612&N=248831&An=browse).

By the way, anyone that might be interested in one of these should hurry, the rebates end on 06-17-2006.

I recently got the 2 gig version for 85 and like it a lot.
My iRiver sounds better.....but the Sandisk is fine for the bike.
I like it that it picks up right where you left off when you turn it back on.
AAA battery lasts a very long time...lasted a whole weekend of riding (solid).

Easy to use.....big buttons (though the vol. control is small). I did not install the software that came with it. I already had MusicMatch installed on my computer and can just simply drag files over to the player. Also functoins as a jump drive. I like it a lot. Solid value.

I didn't install the software either. I just use Windows Explorer and drag and drop all of my music files (or data files) into it and it works great. I also found that by going into it's settup and turning it's advanced features on that it has a stopwatch function. Not sure I'll ever use that but it's nice to know that it's there if I need it. :D

It also comes with an armband in case you want to strap it onto yourself.... or onto your bike.
I ended up using my saddlebag strap and strap it directly to the top of one of my saddlebags. It takes me less than 10 seconds to strap it down and it stays perfectly in place. My wife likes it there because she can have complete control of what we listen to. When I ride alone all I have to do is reach back just a little if I want to change radio channels or skip an MP3 song.

Thanks...my daughter has an older 256 scan disk and really likes it. My wife just bought me one of those small ipod (1GB) for 99.00, but I am leary of those rechargeable batteries. So I am going to see if it is going to hurt her feelings if I go this route instead.

Have a good one,
Kevin

<edit>Picked mine up just a bit ago...Already sent off the 60.00 rebate...
