Forward Engine Oil Plug VTX1300 2006

My VTX1300 is due for its first oil change. Is the forward engine oil plug necessary to remove, in order to drain the engine oil? The reason I ask is that it is so close to the coolant hose, it is extremely hard to get to. Is there a special tool I can get to remove the plug? Thanks for any help.

I have a 2006 VTX1300S and I don't have any problems removing the forward oil plug.

But... I have one of the pepsX bike stands and gives me all kinds of room to work with.

Thanks. I see now after I bought a bike jack. I was looking at the wrong bolt.
