I am looking for the gel palm gloves (I think) Does someone have info? I was experiencing numbness in the hands (going to sleep). I could pull in the clutch, take my hand off the grip and the feeling would return. Weekend before last, an 800 mile trip left my hands numb as before only, the feeling only partly returned. I now have numbness in the joints of the fingers on both hands. I can no longer hold a brush to pinstripe or airbrush (a hobby). I broke down and consulted the Doc. Got sent to a neurologist for tests. I don’t know the results as of yet.

I did an experiment several days ago. While riding, the hand went numb. I pulled in the clutch, left the hand on the grip. When the vibration went away, so did the numbness! I don’t think my situation has been positional, just vibration.

Ideas on isolating vibration would be great!

I bought some gel palmed gloves from a vendor on ebay a while back.

They made considerable difference on hand fatigue.

They aren't very expensive. I think 20 bucks or so.

The ISO grips have helped my hands out, I would start with those.

What about risers? I was reading on the main board how the riders helped several people with the shoulders and arms, but their hands as well. Makes sense that if you get into a more comfortable position, (That is if you are stretcing in the first place.) that if your shoulders and arms feel better, you hands would feel better too. I do not have risers, only passing along what I did read.

All three are excellent suggestions! 8)

The gel palm gloves will help some, but the gel will "wear out" over time.

Iso grips will prevent a lot of vibrations from getting to your hands, but won't help with the position issues.

Risers may help if the bars are too low or too far away.

I have two of the three (no Iso grips yet  ), and they do help.

ISO, Throttle Boss, and........relax your grip somewhat.

Hand position/angle makes a big difference. Back in '01 when I bought my C model my hands and wrists would always go numb. I put risers on to move the bars closer, but it still continued. I put the stcok risers back and installed the Barons X bars. They tilt in more than stock and I had no more problems. I could ride all day without numbness or pain. Last year I also bought an 05 1800 F. I immediately had the same numbness again. I put a set of the same Barons bars on it and again have no numbness or pain. Seems that the angle of the grips makes a big difference, at least for me.

For what it's worth, hope this helps...

Good luck, ride safe.

I'll second what Cody450 said, relax the grip some. I notice, the more traffic I am riding in, the harder I grip the bars. I laugh thinking if you could see through my gloves, my nuckles would be beyond white! Once I make the effort to relax my hands, circulation starts to flow again. It doesn't take long before I forget and start gripping hard again, so its something I have to focus on sometimes.

I have the Baron bars also, but my hands go numb. It may be due to grip pressure and also the Baron grips I have that are all chrome. I have to grip them slightly harder.

Thats true, I do get tense with all the increased truck traffic. Since my wife got hit by that semi, I am hard pressed to get her to drive back down 75 and I can't say I blame her!
