Coming to Ohio at end of month ...

Hey gang ... just sold my '03 1800 R and assuming the guy's check clears then I'm coming east to Chattanooga to buy a new VTX. I'll then be riding into the Buckeye state around the 25th or 26th. My middle child is on a research fellowship in chemistry at Ohio State, so I want to drop in an d see him. I'll likely come through Cincinnati on the way to Columbus.

I'm interested in good places to camp or cheap motels (preferably in smaller towns) that are not bad.

I'm also interested in the BEST roads to ride between Cincinnati and Columbus, and then back west toward Chicago or maybe even Indy.

Hey Doc, I am not much of a camper so no help there. If you are coming through Cincinnati route 42 is a nice leasurely ride that will take you on the west side of Columbus. Or Come a little farther east of downtown Cincinnati and take route 62 direct into Columbus, nice ride as well. If I remember right, there are plenty of the older family run motels along both routes.
Can't help much leaving Columbus though. Although, could take route 33 west and find some roads that will take you to route 30. That runs to the south side of Chicago eventually running into the Tri-State tollway (I-294)

You'll be here just in time for the "honda homecoming" in Marysville.
Thats just a little northwest of Columbus which starts on the 27th. Lots of fellow vtx'ers will be there and a great time!! Hope to see ya there Cowboy
