Hey guys I got my vance and hines Big shots Friday and installed them today...the install went well with the exception of the main bracket that the exhaust mounts to... I had to drill it out a little more for proper alignment..Got the bike all together and its starts pouring rain!!!! so here I am in the carport smiling and crying at the same time. Yes of course I have cranked it up and popped the throttle a few (bunch) of times!!!!She sounds awesome!!!!! My wife has confirmed today I have totally lost my mind.Thank everyone for your feed back on the pipes and I hope to be able to meet some of you VTX people in the near future. I have not been on a good cruize this summer.
Thanks Again

How much of a difference do the quiet baffles make? I've heard an 1800 with the Big Shots but don't know if that particular bike had them. Also, when swapping out the factory pipes for V&H do you need to make any other changes elsewhere?

in my opinion about 1/3 less than stock baffles.

The big Shots for the C and the F have straight thru baffles, The others come with the quiet baffles. So it depends on which model you heard. Ride on up to the Mc donalds at 441 and 85 tomorrow morning. A few of my friends are riding up towards highland. We are meeting behind the McDonalds and leaving there at 9am sharp.

The quiet baffles on the 1800C CAN make a significant difference IF you're willing to keep them maintained.
The "quiet" part is a fiberglass or ceramic material that's wrapped around the baffles. And, honestly, the material deteriorates rather quickly on the 1800C. So, the "sound" of the pipes changes over time.
