Jim,

Me & Phil & Jeff are getting together for a planning meeting this weekend (for
the trip to Deals Gap, up the Blue Ridge Parkway, thru the Skyway drive along the Shennendoah Valley, leaving May 15). You'd mentioned a great little road heading south from either Louisville or Lexington that went across a rather large dam. Can you refresh my alcohol & age ravaged mind and tell me what road that was. I'll be forever in your debt. Looking forward to seeing you guys again.

US 127! I goes right past Fort Knox (a great photo op) and you will not be sorry. Get onto it as soon as you can and take it all the way to Crossville, TN. There is also a large dam that provides another great photo op, this thing is huge! Also be on the lookout for a restaurant called Fu Kim Buffet (no lie)! What a great name! LMAO! Once you get up into the Cumberland Plateau region of Southern KY, hold on, its a fun ride!
We'll have to get together before you all leave and I can point out some other great roads in the area.

Have fun thru Deals Gap, I'm leaving on May 10th for a similar ride....Riding thru the Gap on the 11th, then up the BRP for a couple days, then off to Myrtle Beach Bike Week for the 13th-16th.

Be careful on the Gap, lots of horror stories about that road.

Redbird, LOL! Last I heard, Fort Knox is pretty much empty. No need to base your economy on gold anymore as information is the new unit of trade. Hmmmm, if that's true, I'll store the gold for them! LOL! It's kinda tough to find a good place to park the bike and back up to get a shot of your bike and the vault. Security kinda frowns on anyone parking a vehicle near the perimeter then walking away from it. Apparently, they only give tours once a year, that would be something to see! I only stopped, snapped my pic, then I was off.
