My first trip to little Sturgis was a major eye opener. We threw tents and gear in the bikes and blazed a trail from Huntsville Al. It was myself and another friend on a brand new "F" I think.... The one with the nice wheels. Anyway, it was a perfect ride. None of the fussing, you are going too fast or not going a steady speed or anything that you get with a larger group sometimes.

We got there and found a spot in the grass next to a bunch of other guys and two 21 year old girls. We had no idea what we had in store for us but let me just say this in short. I'll never look at women the same again, especially if they have ever been to one of these ralleys.

It was just one huge party for three days. Clothes were optional and the police were stopped at the gate by the security people who I heard were the Hells Angels. All security ever did inside the fence that I saw was keep people out of the way of the bikes circling through.

Some were in line for the gate opening two or three weeks before the event started. There was almost no problems out of about 30,000 people which I thought was amazing.

The ride back was just as pleasureable as the trip up there with some memories that won't be forgotten soon... 49.7 mpg at 80 to 100 mph made it even better:)
