The pipes that you are trying to show are on the other side of the bike aren't they?

I have a 2007 VTX 1300C and I am considering some Cobra slip-on's also. The stock mifflers have a cross-over pipe that I assume is there to equalize backpresure. Those of you that have done slip-ons, have you had any porblems after the cross-over is gone since the slip-ons do away with this ?
Thanks

I have an 1800 that I am looking at the Cobra slip ons, and wondered the same thing about the equalizer pipe. Be interested in the replies.

I've got Cobra slip-ons on my bike. They've been on for about a year. I didn't re-jet and haven't had any problems. Every once in a while I get a pop on deceleration but that seems to be a common issue, slip-ons or not.

I just installed a set of cobra slip ons. There is no re jetting needed. The crossover pipe missing is not a problem either. Three benefits I have noticed already is (1)they sound GREAT, (2) it feels like the bike is at least thirty pounds lighter since the stock mufflers and bracket are replaced with a lighter set and bracket and (3) it feels like it has a few more ponies to get the bike down the road quicker with. I also added a K and N air filter, kept the stock box, and I am now getting around 47mpg with this setup. If you get the cobras, be sure and read all the directions first as recommended. One thing to watch for is when you pull off the stock mufflers, do so carefully. The only glitch I ran into is the heat shield on the bottom stock pipe inadvertently got moved some and I realized after riding a little while that the rear brake pedal was sticking due to the heat shield touching the pedal lever and not allowing it to spring back. Otherwise, everything went really well for someone who has never done a mod like this before. I learned a lot as I went. As the saying goes, if I can do it, anyone can. :D

I have a 2004 Vtx 1300s and I have online that up to 2004 if you did slippons you don't need to rejet. 2005 and newer run a little lean from the factory and even if you don't make any adjustments to the airfilter or exhaust its a good idea to rejet the carb. Just some stuff I found out online. I don't know if this helps any.

I installed the Cobra slash cuts and a K&N air filter two years ago on my '03 1300 Retro (still running the stock air box). Runs fine. 14K miles and two valve service/check jobs later and no lean running issues. I did notice that at 8K feet and up I get a few pops - but no problems.
