We're all close by, when on an X 8)
I'm in the NW Suburbs. Bluto is as well, but I think he had a post that he was in your neck of the awhile back.
Keep an eye on the boards, we'll get hooked up.

Welcome to the forum. Where is Elburn anyway? I'm in the western suburbs in the Peoples Republic of Chicago. Or as some say, the kingdom of da mayor for life.

Like Redbird said, I'm up in the northwest burbs of McHenry County. I am the 2nd officer of the Northern IL Southern Cruisers and we like to meet in Elburn at PaPa G's for breakfast before our rides to the south.

Elburn is located at routes 47 and 38. Looking forward to meeting and riding with other x owners. Besides, wouldn't you rather ride out here,in the country, than that place called Chicago?
I'm in Mount Prospect, And I've been here forever.
Welcome to the greatest X Forum on the planet.

Well the ride started good. Outside of Woodstock a sharp 90 deg. turn came up on me quicker that I expected and I dumped the bike :( :(
I was slowing down for the turn and then it was there. I took her into the grass to try to slow and keep control, big rookie mistake. When the rear tire hit the grass it was wet being 8am and that was it. Luckily I had slowed enough prior so the damage is minimal, Headlight, mirror, bent shifter, paint, pride. I slid in my back on the grass for about 10 feet. I rode the bike home with the light bungied on the front.
Just glad to be home in one piece.

Sorry to hear you droped the bike it's a good thing you are ok. the good news is now you can justify the custom paint job you wanted :D

Good to hear it was not worse. That custom paint is no within reach, here's the guy that did my X. About 95% of his work is on bikes, been doing it a long time, and a very nice guy. Tim Alcalde, www.alcaldecustoms.com (http://www.alcaldecustoms.com)
