fellow riders
I took the mighty X our for a wee run yesterday, about 140 kms, maybe a bit less. it hadn't been started for about 3ish weeks  I know, I know, inexcusable! anyway, as it was a cold start I naturally applied a little choke until it would idle and then let it warm for about 4 or 5 mins before giving a few little revs as mine tends to splutter a little when not ridden for a while.
I noticed that it was idling highly, like the choke was still on, every time I stopped (about 10 or 12 stops for the ride). I pulled on the choke knob and then pushed it back in a few times and it started idling like normal again. that is until I stopped next when it was doing the same thing. the acceleration felt a bit 'bubbly' I don't know how else to describe it, you know, like when you do actually ride with the choke out.
the X was last serviced in about May and since then I've only done about 500-800 kms. I phoned the dealer who does my servicing and explained to them the problem, the first question he asked was 'Do you use Optimax? most of the fuel related issues we get here are from Optimax, especially from owners who don't do a lot of kays.' I use Vortex whenever I have access to it which is most of the time. I have it booked in Wednesday for a check over.
my only mods are V&H Bigshots, no rejet or K&N yet.
any thoughts on what could be causing this Xers? and yes, the choke was pushed all the way in and wasn't coming on due to the vibration of the Mighty X.
I didn't want to hijack Big Hanno's 'Running On What Fuel?' thread though they may be related.
