View Full Version : Cheers!
ok, I miss you guys. So sorry about all the trouble in the change, but I hope it's getting better now. As for me, I'm having more fun than I ever imagined on the Silver Wing. Smooth as glass at 85mph, easy to handle at 487 lbs, automatic transmission, and ABS. Just did a run from Seattle to Anacortes and back yesterday - most fun it's ever been.
I'm still wearing my Washington X-Riders patch, if you see this flash of red on the freeway. I hope you'll allow me to be an associate member. I'll be checking in on the rides, and hopefully see you again soon.

maybe on one of the rides Ill have to pull my red 2003 silverwing out to ride if your riding. Check the bolt on the centerstand it loosens up real easy..........
Please keep us informed about the Silver Wing, especially if they get their own forum. I have been interested for some time in a more touring type ride. I'm about 8 years from retirement and will be looking to do some serious long distance touring. Glad to see the lines dimmining between the scooters and motorcycles.
As we baby-boomers retire many of us are going to be looking for touring machines that are lighter and more nimble than the Gold Wing, with good ergos, good protection from wind and rain, good range, lots of storage, etc.
The Gold Wing is a great machine, but is large, heavy, expensive and designed for riding two up. This generation's wives are going to want their own rides to a great diegree, so something smaller and lighter for both partners , makes a lot of sense and increases the storage space.
I waiting (trying to be patient) to see how the scooter/motorcycle machines evolve over the next few years.
