Let’s ride, Philadelphia!
Are you ready to ride? The second annual Philadelphia Ride for Kids® is just weeks away, on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006. You’re invited to join hundreds of motorcyclists that morning at the IMAX Theater at King of Prussia Mall to show your support for children with brain tumors. Brain tumors are the deadliest type of childhood cancer. Only through continued research will we find the cause and cure of this devastating disease, and the funds you raise help make that possible!
Why you should ride
The success of the Ride for Kids®program is built on the support of motorcyclists around the country, such as Philadelphia task force coleader Joel Samick. “This is a way to use our passion and our business to help families that are coping with a very difficult and life-threatening situation, one that any of us could have to face without warning,” says Samick. “For many of us, that’s reason enough.”
About the PBTF
The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF), which conducts the national Ride for Kids® program, uses the event proceeds to support critically needed medical research. The funds also help families better cope with the issues surrounding their child’s brain tumor. Free literature, two national newsletters, the Informed Parent and Survivor Internet Conference series, and college scholarships are among the resources the PBTF offers. Since 1984, the national Ride for Kids® program and the PBTF have raised more than $31 million to find the cause and cure of childhood brain tumors. Thanks to the ongoing support of thousands of generous motorcyclists and motorcycle dealers, PBTF has become the largest nongovernmental source of funding for pediatric brain tumor research in the world.
Come on down!
All brands of motorcycles are invited to participate in the Philadelphia Ride for Kids®. Registration begins at the King of Prussia Mall at 7:30 a.m. and closes at 9:15 a.m. Fundraisers earn special Ride for Kids® premiums, and each $300 raised earns a chance to win a brand-new Honda motorcycle. When you take part in a Ride for Kids® event, you’ll be helping young brain tumor patients in your own community and around the world. For more information about the Philadelphia event, visit www.Philadelphia-RideForKids.org (http://www.Philadelphia-RideForKids.org) or call (215) 262-6562. Donations are accepted securely on the local ride website. You can also contact the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation directly at rideforkids.org or call (800) 253-6530.
Thank you from the kids!
