Anyone planning to join us for this event?

http://www.vtxoa.com/forums/viewtopic.p ... 17#1509617 (http://www.vtxoa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1509617#1509617)

This is a truly great event. An awesome continental breakfast and a box lunch are provided to all riders (as long as we have enough). Longwood Gardens (end point) is giving discounts to anyone from the ride who wants to tour the gardens afterwards. And if you do go into the gardens afterwards, we are running a scavenger hunt in the gardens with a bunch of free giveaways from some of the local motorcycle dealerships. We are planning for about 600 motorcycles this year. I would like to see VTXOA represented in that group.

You should check it out at http://www.philadelphia-rideforkids.org.

Note: When the donations are collected, you can specify both a dealership and a club/group affiliation to credit your donation too. Personally, I was the 11th top individual fund raiser last year. With only a sampling of the VTXOA members, we can make a significant showing this year. If we can get participation like this year’s Eastern Meet&Greet, we could be the top club/group easily. The top fund raisers are announced on stage, and the top individual and the top club/group get to ride at the front of the line the next year.

If anyone cannot make the event but would like to donate and credit that donation to the VTXOA, just use the donation link on http://www.philadelphia-rideforkids.org and all donations collected there will be credited towards VTXOA.

The kids thank you for supporting this event,

"T" Rex

I have seen some Awesome Responses so far!! Check out the PA and Delaware boards. That is the kind of enthusiasm I like to see. I will have the VTX group registered as “VTXOA” to cover everyone from the message boards; so, after you get through the registration table, head over to the dealer and club registration and look for VTXOA and use your credit slip there.

Also, the start point is right across the parking lot from Champs restaurant. That is a good meeting up location for groups from different areas wanting to gather as a group before heading over to the start line. Be sure you have enough fuel to go at least 60 miles before getting in the start line.

The parade line is “get in line as you arrive” so if you want to ride as a group, you need to arrive as a group.

I have already collected well over $1000.00 in donations for the ride. That alone will guarantee a VTXOA photo with the stars. Be prepared at the end point after the “Celebration of Life” ceremony to meet the kids and get a photo taken.

The more donations you bring, the more premiums you earn:

$ 35.00 - $ 49.99 : Basic event entry, one event pin.
$ 50.00 - $ 99.99 : One event T-Shirt, plus items above
$100.00 - $299.99 : Second event T-Short, plus items above
$300.00 - $499.99 : One ticket for Honda motorcycle drawing (one per each $300 raised), event cap, plus items above.
$500.00 – 599.99 : Embroidered long-sleeve heavyweight shirt, plus items above.
$600.00 - $749.99 : Second ticket for Honda motorcycle drawing (one per each $300 raised), plus items above.
$750.00 - $899.99 : Second event cap, plus items above.
$900.00 - $999.99 : Third ticket for Honda motorcycle drawing (one per each $300 raised), second embroidered long-sleeve heavyweight shirt, plus items above.
$1000.00 - $4999.99 : Photo plaque with you and the Ride for Kids Stars, plus items above.
$5000+ : Special recognition as a member of the “Ride for Kids Champions Club”, including a special embroidered jacket, plus items above.

If each rider from VTXOA brings a $50.00 donation and we can get 100 members, we very well can be the top club. That would be $5000 + my $1000+ so over $6000 in donations for the kids would be nearly double of last years’ top club. Gathering from the reports from the area VTXOA Meet and Greets, we have the potential of bringing in 150-200 bikes. THAT WOULD BE VERY AWESOME!!

The continental breakfast by Allstate is great and the lunch sandwiches are compliments of Le-Bus bakery and just top of the line. I suggest getting there early so you won’t be at the back. I expect to run out of lunches this year. We had exactly enough last year.
Longwood Gardens (The end point) is offering discount tickets to the Gardens after the event, so for those not familiar with the area or have never been to Longwood, I highly recommend taking advantage of the offer. Plus there will be a scavenger hunt inside the gardens for some nice motorcycle related prizes.

I will be on site in the area from Thursday evening though to the end of the event. If anyone needs any thing, give me a call. Send me an email and I will reply with my cell phone number. I can also be found on the day of the ride, I will be have my Black 2005 VTX 1300S with center handlebar mounted GPS and I will be wearing the ride heavyweight long sleeve shirt, Black with the Ride for Kids 2006 logo on the back and my name (Rex) on the front, and my light colored Kyle Petty Charity Ride Ball cap. Anyone of the “Red Shirts” and most of the volunteers should be able to point me out.

I look forward to seeing you all there……….

Okay folks, we are 4 days away from one of the most exciting rides of the year (in my humble opinion), but then again I am biased.

The Ride For Kids is on Sunday September the 17th, and I will have VTXOA registered in the club Recognition tent. The weather looks like mostly sunny and in the 80's. A "Red Letter Day" for riding non stop in and around Chester County.

Please plan on joning me for the Philadelphia Ride For Kids event this Sunday. I hope to see as many of you there as possible. It will be great ride and a great event. The Allstate Breakfast alone is worth the cost of a basic donation and we provide lunch.

Looking for me at the start point? I will in and around the Stars tent,. That is where the Families of the Stars will be. I will be helping David "The Feenz" Feeny with the patient familes and the Star kids.

If you really....really... can't make it and wish to contribute, please use my donation website and your donation will go to VTXOA recognition

http://www.firstgiving.com/phlrfk2006

We'll see you at the IMax theater parking lot at the King of Prussia Mall between 7:15am and 9:00am. Registration closes at 9:15 sharp so get there in time to get through registration and get some coffee and breakfast. We depart the KoP IMax at 9:30.

Thank you for supporting this great cause and the Kids and their families sent their heartfelt thanks and appreciation
