I got Shanghi'd to staff their Demo Rides. If you haven't had a chance to ride a VTX or Gold Wing now's the time (need valid IL license WITH MC endorsement, and Helmet which dealer can loan ((yuch!!! - bring your own!))).

Auction goes from ~ 10:00 a.m. to noon. Here's the list I got from them (you can find the list in the current Cycle Focus):

'86 Honda Intercepter
'85 Honda V65 Sabre
'84 Yamaha Venture
'98 Honda XR400
'06 Honda "Gold" color Gold Wings (multiple units)
"A bunch of Rebel 250's"
"Some surprise bikes"

I seen the article in the free illinois rv book that is all over places around here. I was curious on their auctions there. Does anybody know what articles they have on the auction block. Especially bikes.

There is a little slip of paper you have to fill out and put in their hopper. You can do it Saturday. I think the entry cut off is around noonish.

It was great to see everyone. It got pretty crazy there on the run up to the raffle.

The winner of the Kendon trailer was Bruce, their UPS driver - probably registered 400 times over the summer. :shock:

The winner of the 2006 VTX1800C was Howard, the guy helping me with the Demo Rides. He rides a 250 Reflex (scooter)! He decided to give the X to his son David, and trade his Reflex and his son's 750 sport bike in on a new Silver Wing. Congratulations to Howard!!!

I got hot and dehydrated (maybe border line heat stroke?), and a pretty good sun burn on my (bald) head and face. If I EVER do that again I'll only do a half days worth (this time it was 7 am to 5 pm) and I'm bringing my own chair, ice chest, and umbrella :!: :evil:

I liked how they told everyone the drawning was at 3:00

... then had it at 2:30 :roll:


It was still cool seeing so many different VTX's from around the area.
