Well, I went and ordered a 06 St 1300 abs today. The X is sold and the new bike should be here by the middle of next week.
I test drove the ST at the honda hoot and was impressed with the ride. Not to mention my wife was comfortable on it.
Last Tuesday, I test drove the Yamaha FJR 1300 AE with electric clutch and it is a very nice bike. Foothills Honda wants full MSRP for it and I told them no way.

Very simple. You tell the sales person to find you a new 06 St 1300A.
Since honda makes so many bikes per year that they can't possibly sale them all. They still have a lot of them in inventory. Thats one of the reasons the value of the X drops like a rock tied to a brick.
As a matter of fact, Hendersonville Honda, still has new 04's in stock. Most of the ST 1300 stock is none ABS. Honda may learn one day that putting ABS on as a standard feature would move the product line a lot better and they would not have bikes sitting around for a couple of years.
The ST 1300 is also single color per year. The 07's are a light silver and it has to be the worse color I have ever seen. I mean butt ugly. So that is mainly why I don't want an 07. Like the Gold Wings, there is very little difference in the model from year to year.

Picked up my ST 1300 on Thursday :) Sorry, about the late post, but I have been riding :)
Billy, from Anderson Honda, went to Blairsville GA and pick up my ST still in the crate. He got back around 8pm Wed night.
It is really nice to watch them uncrate and put together a bike. Even better when it is your bike :)
It has to be the most comforable bike I have ever been on. Handles like a dream and has plenty of power.
We took the trip to Hendersonville last night and my wife was actually ready to ride more when we got home. Thats a big difference from both of us riding the X. It rained most of the trip, not a heavy downpour but a steady rain and we didn't need wet weather gear. Our legs stayed nice and dry.

Donnie,
Where the heck were you guys?
I looked for you because I saw you had posted a while
back that you were going. But I hadn't seen this thread
and had no idea you were buying an ST. So I was looking
for your F.
We (Mopar & I) made a very last minute decision (didn't
want to tell folks we were going and then not show) and
went to the BBQ. Ran into Kay and Jay on 25 (can you
say "timing"?) and rode in with them.
Are you guys really Cisco and Pancho, and wearing a mask? :D

John,
We got a late start and arrived when Hal and HDL was tearing everything down.
Justin picked up a screw in his rear tire and we had to get that fixed. Then my navigator took us on a little side tour of saluda. We got at the bbq around 7:45.
