My comp has something way bad going on. Went down to the shop to try and fix it. Booted up on a Norton virus cd, 8hrs later, it still hadn't finished it's emergency scan. I just walked away and let it keep runnin. And thats where I was all day

Brad,
A nasty bug's going around again. If your system is reacting like that, I would reboot to CD, but take it off the network. The virus will consume all memory and cpu resources and tries to infect other pc's. If you can, check the Norton site. Bruce posted it and they have the removal tool and instructions.

Brad,
I can really feel for you man, I (Al (WAVTX) and Jeff (Balrog)) can relate to computer problems and how time consuming they can be. Thats what we do all day, so on that note if you need any help let me know. I dont know how much help I can be through here but Im willing to try if you are. That's one of the things I really like about this site, most of the time everyone is very supportive of each other and willing to put there expertise (I dont know how much of an expert I would be considered but thats what they pay me for) out there to assist fellow riders, I think its very cool.

Bruce,
The symptoms he mentioned is indicative of the nature of that virus you mentioned. It consumes all resources making the system unusable. I can't say for sure, but I'd assume it's infected and start countermeasures. Anyhow, we are live now and things are going okay, crazy but okay. Buzy buzy buzy...

system was still doing the Norton emergency scan when I got in this mornin. I was able to download that new virus fix at home. Home comp didn't have the virus, but when I ran it down here at the shop, this comp did have it. Supposedly it removed that virus. Comp is better but still screwed up

Glad to hear your server is up without too many problems, can't expect none, because Murphy lives in computers, only comes out once in a while to play with other folks.

Good luck Brad, I'm sure you'll get it, but remember we're out here for at least moral if not technical support. Like I said, just ask and I'll see what I can come up with.

Sometimes that's the best thing to do. Gets everything nice and clean. Good luck.
