Zeeman - everything you've asked has been discussed about a zillion times before. Do a quick search and you should find more and better info than what you'll get in your thread.
If you still have problems or questions PM me and I'll give you my # and you can call me. If you're really worried about it you're welcome to bring it by my place sometime and I'll give you a hand with it. :D

Bare, I appreciate it. The short time I've been reading these boards, I've noticed you seem to be on top of this bike! I've been under plenty of auto hoods through the years, but never dov into a bike much. This one nor my Shadow!

I just did this on my buddies 1800. HPP, in one part of the instructions, they have the bikes wire colors confused, but the location on the harness in correct. Read them through a couple of times before starting.
Also solder you connections. We just stripped some of the insulation from the wire, not cut it, opened up the wire slightly, blended them, and soldered.
Have not done the Hypercharger, sorry.
As for the V&H. They are sweet, but know this, they will look, for all intents and purposes that they will not go on. They will, if you hold them in the position as though they were installed, then with the flanges close to the cylinder heads raise the pipes they will go on. Well worth it. We were told when your done with the install. Completely clean the pipes with Windex foam, then wipe them down with alcohol, not Crown. Then let them dry.
You will then, with restraint, ride locally long enough to get the pipes hot, then park it for about 12 hours minimum. Cures them.
Hey that is what we were told...
Now HPP took a little while to set itself. With out the Hypercharger, Buddies 1800 R will pull the front wheel, with the utmost of ease, and I broke the tire loose getting on it hard, and that is with my 200# butt on it...
ONE final thing. MPG SUCKS!!!
Until you learn not to go all out every where you goooooo!!!!!! You know Mach 2, stop sign too stop sign!
