Has anyone been in the mountains to see the colors yet? Heading up I-40 at 70 MPH, I didn't see much, but the elevations there are also pretty low. I was just wondering what to expect this weekend.

rode thru highway 30 a few times this past weekend and it is changing, but not dramatic yet.

in a couple of weeks, should be breath taking

And VERY crowded...especially if it's a home game weekend for the Vols!

Crowded? bah, not if you know the back roads. And the back roads are the ones that are a lot more fun on a bike anyway. Stupid long straight stretches on 66, backed up for miles.... me, twisting around from one end of Sevier Co to the other in no more than 30 mins. he he he

Anyway, here in the Smokies, the colors are starting. Like said before, very slight.

2 weeks from now the hills will be ablaze with colors.
Especially since we have had a lot of rain in the last month.
I thought this year was going to be bad, because of the lack of rain throughout the summer, but the last month, dumped on us at times.

Ain't life great.

None of the timings bother me.
I live so close to the mountains I can see the park and hear the Dollywood train whistle from my back porch.
Plus,
I know the back roads.... he he he
