Daegen Feyh poker run Topeka

Last year on July 17th 2005. A four year old boy by the name of Daegen Feyh Lost his two year battle with Acute Megakarocytic Leukemia. There is no cure for this desease and no research is being conducted. In the next 10 minutes a child or adult will die from Leukemia, Lymphoma or Myeloma. In Daegen's case, his type of Leukemia is not even being researched. His parent and close friends have committed themselves to raise $ 100,000 to meet the requirements necessary to receive a Government Grant for research on this type of Leukemia. It is a killer of children and young adults. Those diagnosed with it within the next few hours will merely be written off as unsavable. Sorry but I and my close friends at ALR / American Legion Post 400 in Topeka Kansas feel differently. Something can be done if the research is available.

On October 28, Saturday. ALR and American Legion Post 400 will sponser a Poker Run for Cancer Research and an amazing young spirit who will remain four years old forever. "Daegen Feyh". I have volunteered to organize this Poker Run and invite all to participate. You don't have to ride a bike to do this Poker Run. Four Wheels on up and Three wheels on down are invited. If you have a powered Unicycle your elegible.

Details will be posted later, but the participation of all other area organizations Legion Posts, VFW's, ABATE Districts, Veterans MC's, Christain MC's and other MC'S is requested.. The more the better. This is for a necessary and richious cause. Want to have a "Huge" Showing. If Hooters isn't your thing the other locations are some of the best eats in Kansas.

Cost will be $ 20 per rider and for each card drawing passenger. 50% Pay Out. Were working on prizes and gifts so dont loose your tickets when purchased. By the way the last stop is "Hooters" here in Topeka"!

Here is the promised update.
So heres an updat on the Poker Run the 28th in Topeka.

We will start, pre-registration and first card drawings at 10am, don't forget your ticket, the one with numbers on it. Cost will be $20 first hand and $10 each additional hand. Bikes start rolling out at 11am from the American legion Post 400 on highway 24 in North Topeka. Second card will be drawn at the Blind Tiger Restaurant and Brewery at 37th and Kansas Ave in Topeka. Third card will be drawn at Puffy's Ice and Steakhouse in Maple Hill KS. for the fourth card you'll Travel North to Hwy 24 again at St Marys, turn left and head towards Manhattan and Ramblers Steak house at Hwy 24 and Statelake Rd. Now for your fifth and final card you and probably some friends will be heading to Hooters on 10th Street just West of Wanamaker and South of 1-70 in Topeka. There you will turn in your Tally Sheets and get ready for some drawings. Oil changes, tool bags and some other worthwhile cirtificates. Thats what the tiket with numbers are for. We've have a band on schedual so things won't be boring. If we can, we might encourage some of the staff at Hooters to get envolved. I hope!!!!

I know there has been some concern that Topeka is being watched closely because of a certain so-called poker run a week or so ago. that is not the way to have a poker run. We are going to be organized so that everyone has a great time and won't be troubled with a lot of BS. this is a winner take all and in case of a tie or multiple winners the pot will be split! It's a 50% pay out, so the more of you that show, the better it gets. This run will take place Rain or shine and is open to cages, So be there for a great time and a greeat cause. Because of the lack of research there are too many little hero's like Daegen Feyh. We can make a difference!! See you there. This ride is over 150 miles long and last bike in at 4:PM Aproximated!
