Cns, we have not seen you on the toys ride...you owe us one.I was thinking about saturday. Mygranddaughter is being baptised this sunday after it was put off the past couple.

Tony, you are more then welcome to be there, actually I'm expecting you to be there. Some of this talk goes back about a year or so. We need a few more riders to make this a go. I'm not exactly sure where Chatsworth is and if you want to meet us there or if you want to meet and ride up together. We will figue it out as the week goes on. I can fill you in on alot of what is happining here this weekend. Did you get that patch sewn on???

If everything goes according to plan, we should be in Helen somewhere between 3 and 4 on Friday afternoon. We're gonna stop in at the leather shop and see the new place, then head on over to chatsworth.

O.K. I'm one of the newbies two and if you don't mind riding with a old fart of 42 and don't mind stopping every 85 miles or so to feed my gas hog, then this ride sounds like fun. Let me know when and where and i will try to be there.

The ride over Fort Mtn. from Chattsworth to Ellijay (or vice versa) is a nice scoot. Bardo, Chattsworth is straight up hwy. 411 outta Cartersville headed North, it sits about 15 miles or so due East of Dalton on 411.

Well darn, I have a change of plans. I want get to meet some of you this weekend now because I have an appointment in Calhoun, GA for a custom map session to try to get this beast a little better fuel mileage. I am so tired of stopping every 80 miles or so for gas it is driving me crazy, so I must do something. Maybe afterwards sometime I can meet up with you guys for a meet and greet or something. :)

How does this route sound??? We can pick Tony up in Ellijay, maybe grab Chuck (clewis), may have to find out where he lives and go to his house to get him since he did not post, and anyone else who wants to join in.When leaving Helen we can take the direct route home.

BPA is where I'm getting it done at and as far as I know he still has the mobile unit, but you know this trip to Helen sounds great so I may wait on the dyno and ride with you guys, that is if you don't mind. Let me know when and where to meet, maybe I can meet up with Tony in Chatsworth and ride with him to Ellijay to meet with the rest of you. Bardo the Hardee's in Ellijay would be a good place to meet. Let us know. :)

Hardees sounds fine, maybe some coffee about that time sounds better. Lets get some more to chime in and commit to it.
Hey Bardo, What time are you going to be at Ellijay and where is the Hardees? I know where Poole's Bar-B-Q is, Hwy 5 East Ellijay 100.2mi. from my driveway in Tyrone went up last Sun. with Bill. I would like to ride with you. Although I haven't met xxxrider yet maybe we can hook up and ride up there together instead of him trailering his bike to Canton, and any other Southsider too. (PM) me and I will give you my # so we can hook up. [/i]
Bardo
10-12-2006, 08:51 PM
RamV, what time will you be in Ellijay?? You are probably coming the farthest. We can work it in.
We left the house last Sun. at 10am. got to Poole's at 12:10pm going shall we say over the speed limit Bill doesn't do slow to well.I'll be coming solo unless somebody wants to hook up down here.I can work will you guys just give me a time to meet you , if it's Hardees give me some directions to get there, if it's Poole's I will give you directions if you need them.

10-12-2006, 09:23 PM
Let me know Ram what you can do and we'll go from there. Lets see if some of the others are still up for it. If not maybe we can just meet in Ellijay and eat then ride from there.

The Hardees in Ellijay is easy to find you can't miss it, when you come in to town it will be on your left at the bottom of the hill, the first red light should be at the old Wal-mart shopping center and Mickey D's will be on the left goto the next red light and turn left then turn left again then turn left into Hardees. Its almost one big U-turn. Lets figure out what time everyone needs to meet and get this ride a rolling.

When you say change your plans do you mean instead of Saturday ride we do a Sunday after church ride. That doesn't give us southside boys enough time to ride does it???
I'm still thinking about riding up Saturday to Ellijay, eat barbeque as I have eaten way too many burgers and chicken lately then over to Helen. I just PMed RamV to see if he is still up for it. If not I may get some guys together and do the Pine Mountain/Warm Springs thing eating at the Bulloch House for lunch with hot Chicken Livers, etc. with Peach Cobbler.

Motorcycle Mike has a plan for sunday which seems like combining the 2 would be a better turnout. This was planned too quick and changed in the middle to include Ellijay to be able to pull it off with only 1 nite to go.

I wish you could get a small 8" patch like the picture of the Vanguard with your moniker but I think Bardo you said it would not come out looking too good because the details got lost or whatever.
Love to get together sometime with you Bardo as it was nice meeting you at the Labor Day Fest at the KSL. We will probably to the Helen run next Saturday in the Suches area triangle. Hope you guys & girls have a great ride tomorrow after church. I think we southside guys will do the Pine Mountain/Warm Springs ride and eat at the Bulloch House. It's about the only thing we have that is close to what you guys ride in the north but not very mountainous at all to say the least which is why we envy you North Atlanta riders because you are just a couple of hours from great mountain riding with twisties etc. Have FUN and RIDE SAFE and don't outride your ANGELS!!!

I think Spike can make that in an 8" and I think it would come out real nice but we would have to have a minimum to get it done. I don't think we would have that much interest. Now we may have more interest in a 10" and we can try it if you would like. We can also try for a 3 or 3.5" for the front of a vest if you would like. I think we still have a couple that ordered that have not paid yet and that hurts any kind of patch sales.
It was real nice meeting you up there and we do need to get together again. Contact RamV and meet him, heck of a nice guy, but be warned, he will ride for days without stopping. He is a good southsider for riding with.

Also, the traffic in and around Blue Ridge, Ellijay, Jasper, et al is VERY heavy...there are 3 festivals going on in these parts, at the same time!!! Not to mention some of the leaves are starting to change their colors...soooooooooo, be careful and very patient out there.

Maybe go down some roads that I have never been on but always wondered what was down that road.
They are having a Fall Festival in Warm Springs for anyone going over there so expect some crowds and apples, lots of apples.
