I would like round up a group of riders to ride up to Americade next year. I would like to know if anyone would like to meet here in the Sullivan County, NY area, and head up from here. (Port Jervis could be a good place to meet and grab a bite to eat  ) It's about a 2 hour ride on the Interstates and some nice scenic back roads. I know it's pretty far off, but I haven't tried to coordinate anything like this before. I know a lot of the Long Island VTX Riders will more or less come right through here, and if you have something organized I'll just meet up with you guys on your way through. Post here if you have any interest or any suggestions. Just trying to stir up interest to see if it's going to be worthwhile.
The ride I have in mind will take us through the Hawk's Nest area, along the Neversink Reservoir, Peekamoose area, Shokan Reservoir, and then onto I-87 to Albany area then to Lake George. It's a really nice ride, I did it last year on my way up to Americade. It's definitely a ride worth sharing.

I'm thinking Sunday June 3rd, 2007 or Monday June 4th, 2007. If it's on that Sunday I was thinking leaving this area in the afternoon, as I am involved in the Cats-cade rally and it ends on Sunday. Monday any time is good for me.
Leon - Definitely after Cats-cade. Had too much fun there not to be there this year!
I figured I'd throw the idea out now so we can make better sense of it when the time draws near. I'd like to head out Sunday because I can get my registration stuff done nice and early there, and enjoy the rest of the stay without any waiting in line. I believe there is an early bird check in on sunday, could be wrong tho. The Roaring Brook Ranch demo rides get booked up early, don't want to miss out on some specific bike demos.

I get a place out of town a bit. I figured we'd ride just to get there, accomodations don't have to be the same as everybody prefers something different.

I am looking for a group that might be going from the Boston area. This will be my first trip into Upstate NY on a bike. I went to college in Oneonta and remember that there are a lot of nice roads to ride.

? Where is Cats Cade ? :o
I'm interested.. always a good time at Americade... tell us about this "Cats-cade" sound like fun also
Cats-Cade is a gathering of motorcycle folks in Woodbourne, NY the weekend immediately before Americade. Riders come from many regions of the US and also from Canada. it is a relaxing fun weekend that is sort of low key with several workshops offered, tire changing, food, music, camping or staying at a local motel, and most importantly, friends making friends. For past and current information heck out the Cats-Cade website at: http://www.cats-cade.org.

Thanks for the info. I see its near OCC, I won't make a special trip to see OCC. But if I'am that close maybe I'll do a drive by. :)
Its about 800 miles to Cats cade, How far is it from Cats-Cade to Lake George?
Lake George is about 150 miles north.
Hey Dan, What's going on? Doing any riding before the big freeze? Let me know if/when you do any riding.

I live in Vernon, NJ in the beautiful NJ Highlands. Real close to Port Jervis, NY. Is anyone going from this area?
