Well, we went to VA for the weekend. I trailered my 599 to my folks house in Lynchburg (My X is still in the shop!!! *grrrrr!*) Then, Marty & I rode from my parent's house in Lynchburg to just north of Front Royal. We rode up via backroads, then back down the entire Skyline Drive and some of the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was about peak this weekend, a beautiful ride. Here are a few pics from the ride up the back roads up there. (THe 599 was fun, but uncomfortable after 2 days, 400 miles. VERY cold on my hands- 2 pairs of gloves, and I was still having to stop every 45 mins or so to thaw my hands out! It was about 50 degrees out, with a windchill of 46, according to the thermometer at the ranger station we stopped at Saturday around 11:00 AM. And that was just the "standing still" wind chill! NOt the riding down the road at 35-40 mph!!)

Kings Crossing, VA... a booming metropolis!!!

Along Rt 151 in Nelson County, near Wintergreen Ski Resort (They don't allow motorcycle's in there, by the way!!) We used to live near there!! My 599 and Marty's Wing are sure enjoying the color!!

And this was the road that we didn't take, because it wasn't twisty enough!!!

And these pics are from day #2, along the Skyline drive and the BRP

This is the Shenandoah Valley (I have no idea what town that is!!)

Just south of Front Royal, at one of the first overlooks on the Skyline Drive

My 599 looks like a baby compared to the two Wings!! (The purpose of the trip was to meet a guy & his wife from the Gold Wing board who was selling a Unigo trailer that Marty bought. They rode down from just outside Boston!! We rode together for a while on Saturday, to enjoy the view. Another great meet from the forums!! "You meet the nicest people on a Honda!")
