Have any of you noticed riding at night that if you put on your bright lights that the led is very bright? I wouldn't even use it because of this. I found the mod from brews page but never really liked it. I did use it but didn't care for it. Then I found one from Redroan that was way cooler. It uses a photo cell so that in the day the led is bright and at night it's dim. Here is a link to his mod: http://home.comcast.net/~redroan/LEDmod.html . Well if any of you know me very well (Warden and my wife are the only ones that I can think of that would be reading this board) I can't leave well enough alone so here is what I did:

This is what I did with the photo cell, I used a much smaller one.

This is under the lights in my garage.

Now lights out. I know that you can see a difference but it's even better in person.

So what do you all think? Defiantly more work than the cotton, but being a tech freak this is more my speed, I just love doing things like this!!

Hey do you do special requests? With my new leather road bag I should have the legs to get down to your neck of the woods and you could hook me up!

Looks great, thanks for the pics. I would love to do this mod as I ride EARLY in the am.

Take care, regards to Mrs. Coolrunnings...

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm here to help. Anyone, if I can I will. So on that note I'd me more than happy to help you out with this mod Al. So one of these days if you happen to be in the area (did you ever get those GPS Coordinates?) stop by. I didn't time myself on this but I usually get faster the more times I do something. You should see how fast I can get to the carb now. I bet I can do a complete re-jet in under an hour. Can you guess how and why I know this? :D

Well a few weeks ago I re-jetted my bike. I thought it ran better, so did Susan. We went for a ride and I blew that seal (I’m sure you remember) so I pulled everything apart to fix a kinked breather hose. Then later I pulled a plug front and rear and I was defiantly running rich. So I pulled everything apart again to crank back the mixture screw to see if I could lean it out enough. Damn if I wasn’t still running rich, so back apart, several more times, I didn’t want to take the float bowl off again to change the main jet. I wanted to keep it at the 200 because you just never know when I might change something that would require more gas. I was just going to change the clip but I asked for suggestions on the tech board and I at least got one good response. I changed the main jet to 195, needle on the third clip three turns on the mixture screw. Now I’m waiting for new plugs to read. I believe that the old plugs can tell me if I’m running rich but I think if you want to check if your running lean its best if done on new plugs IMHO. Let me tell you this, I sure hope I’ve got it right this time or at least close enough that I can live with it but one of my down falls is in most cases I’m a perfectionist so it’d better be pretty damn close or else I’m sure I’ll be back in there.
Time for a little venting, I thing Honda could’ve made it so you could reach that mixture screw without having to peel everything off to get to it. Maybe I don’t have the right tool, but it’s the one they sent with the jet kit. I tried all kinds of ways to get to it without pulling everything but in the end the tank, air box and carb were off just to turn that little fricken screw.
Boy do I feel better now.
