Ok so I take off Last Sunday night heading for Tampa. I made it to Marianna and began smelling fuel fairly strong. I pulled over noticed that one of the bolts holding my aircleaner had come out and was inside of the aircleaner. I fixed that and filled up the tank. 40 Miles later the tank was empty and I was covered in fuel not a good feeling. I pulled into the Flying j truck stop in Quincy and realized that I was pouring fuel from behind my aircleaner.
I decided that I could either get a hotel and try to find help on Monday morning or break out the little tool kit and see what i could find.
In the dark with only the tools that came with the X I got the great pleasure of learning how to remove my tank and rebuild my carburator. I had never had the nerve to remove the tank on my own but now after doing it in the dark with minimal tools it is a piece of cake. The problem was that the fuel hose had come unconnected however I did not discover this until the carb was in my hand in pieces. But I got it back to together and completed my trip and am now back in Niceville. Just thought I would share with everyone who does not think that little kit is worth a damn It surely saved my ass.
