I bought a power port from wally world and wired it into a fuse block that I mounted on the tool box door. I ran the leads into my saddle bag and have used it to charge my cell phone. The power port is around $7 and is "weather proof".
Good luck.

I bought a cigarette lighter socket at the local auto parts store.
I mounted to an extra screw hole under the triple tree. There is a screw /bracket on the right side but the left side hole is empty. It takes a 8/16 metric bolt I got at Lowes. Ran the wires under the tank back to the battery and used one of the empty sockets on a plug. I found this on one of the tech websites. I don't know what you call it but its a slide do hickey.
One side of the plug is missing this part. Once installed the power is switched on and off by the key. Great, so you don't walk off and leave it own ( running the battery down ). I bought a inline 15amp fuse holder at Radio Shack. I'll post pictures later if intested. I mount the GPS with a RAM mount just above the socket. I'm not sure how water prove the socket is my GPS is !
