Well, I couldn't resist the price. I canceled my order with Chumbo and went with Anchor Express for the Zumo. Man, you can't beat that price and shipping. I saved $40.00. I called Anchor Express and they said this price would only be good through the weekend.

Lewis & Clark should have had your skills in adventure! Do you feel these folks are legit (I presume they are)? Anybody you know or have you read of anybody who has successfully dealt with them? And any direct telephone interfacings with them to have a feel for when you might get it.
I ask because it DOES sound tempting....!

No, I'm taking a gamble on this. When I called, she sounded like she was a yankee so you know already there legit :D . I went to the Better Business Bureaus web site and looked them up. They only had 1 complaint in the past 3 years since they have been open and that was for a shipping problem and that had been resolved.

I'm sure it will be absolutely fine. Having given Star Marine Depot another credit card number the other day (after fraud caused my initial one to be terminated), I'm a little hesitant to call them and say, uh, "fergiddit." haha But maybe $40 back in my pocket is worth some hesitancy. I note they still list the last 4 digits of my defunct card; if they try to send it tomorrow and send me a 'no-can-do notice,' I'll go to Anchor Express right away. Why not? What am I, a chump? YOU certainly aren't!

I just found a site called "ResellerRatings.com" -- it, that is about 6 separate customers who have personally used them, gives Anchor Express a number of pretty good ratings.
I think I need to give the bad news to Star Marine Depot. The $711 price at Anchor Express is valid until Nov 20th and I think about $15 for DHL next day shipping. Ka-CHING back in my pocket!
I might first call AE to ask them when they feel they'll have the Zumo...

I just today got an email from SMD and they said they expected the Zumos in their store tomorrow the 17th - who knows

Yikes -- they're making it REALLY difficult for me. My email correspondence with them (due to my charge card difficulties) was a little more mercurial about that info. They said they hoped to have them on the 17th, but Garmin has moved things back several times.
Conversely, I just got off the phone with Anchor Express. The sales guy told me he actually had a few right now (they're earmarked for shipment elsewhere) and that new orders would be piecemeal'd in -- so there's a little undertainty there.
Ultimately, I can just let things ride, and probably get my Zumo next week from SMD, or cancel by or before the 20th, re-order with Anchor Express and not know for certain when I'll get the Zumo -- but certainly within 3 weeks or so.
At least I have 3-4 days to see what Star Marine does. Tick....tick....tick!

Just a thought, maybe of you send them a link to the Anchor Express page showing the price the other resellers, Star Marine and Chumbo will match it :?: :?: Or then again, they could tell you to pound salt too :!: :!:

I told Chumbo about their price and they said that theirs was locked in and couldn't come down. It never hurts to ask!

Well then, ne reason to beat a somewhat dead horse, I will just leave my order at Chumbo and hope to get the Zumo sooner than later.

Same here (I'll let it ride) but with SMD; UNLESS they email to say or I call tomorrow and find they really don't expect their Zumo shipment until next week or later or are otherwise clueless. Then I may as well be clueless with Anchor Express for $40 or $50 less...
