Does anyone know of a good, reasonably cheap hotel/motel in this city?

Also, gonna travel from Fayetteville to Arkadelphia. Thinking about running interstate to Russelville then taking Rte 7 down. Any thoughts on this route?

From Fayettille, ask someone to tell you how to get to the Pig Trail..Ride that down to I-40...Take that to Russleville, take scenic 7 thru some real beautiful countryside thru Hot Springs (be very alert for gray hairs) and right on down to Arkadelphia...Lots of cheap hotels along I-30. Between Hot Springs and Arkadelphia you will also do over Lake Degray. Yes those large birds you seeing flying around are Eagles....When is your trip? Let me Know. K-dog

Thanks Kdog. I plan on leaving June 1st for Fayetteville. June 2 head to Arkadelphia to meet up with other bikers. Will ride the countryside of AR thru the weekend. I've heard of the Tala-mena trail and will try to figure out what that is once I get down there. Care to join up?

Give me a holler as well when you get here as I would love to ride with you again. my email is bigpoppa@arkwest.com or call me at 479-272-2402. I am not gonna be able to do Colorado this year but we have just as good of left overs as they do. Unless you just have to go to Russellville I would take the pig trail hwy 23 down to Booneville then head east 30 miles on hwy 10 and your in my big ol town of Danville and theres 2 pretty good ways to get down to the Hot Springs/Arkadelphia area from here. Its better riding and its probably faster than going all the way to Russ. on the interstate plus theres lots of ongoing road contruction there as well. Anyway I get off at 1:00 everyday so let me know. Later, B.P.

Hey, Woot.Damn good riding any way you go.Big Poppas got you down for some beyootiful back roads cruisin if you're not in a hurry. I-40 is probably quicker, but man what a trade off. Enjoy your stay and like K dog said watch out for Geezers. Love em, got 2 myself, but they're crafty little devils.LoL. Talamena is south of Fayetteville. Basicly it starts at Mena. [for reference sake]. Don't miss Pettijean or mount magazene, or even Mount Nebo.[ It's about ten miles south of Russellville]. They warn you not to take trailers up it, and they are not kidding. It's a hang gliders paradise. I personally think this area is better than the poconos in P.A. because the roads aren't as treacherous. Take care and enjoy arkansas. It will blow your mind! The twisties never end. Later, Greg.....

Hey Guys,

It would be great to meet up while my group is down there. My dad claims to know the Arka area (yeah, right!). So thats why we picked it. He's supposed to have some routes mapped out.

BP, that route looks awesome. And since I have essentially all day to get to Arka, I could drop by and pick you up .... if I could pry you away from the refrigerator! Ha! :) Man, you did some serious damage to those ribs in Coloradical.

I'll let you guys know what our plans are when I know them. BP I'll call you if something changes after I leave home.

Slight change in plan. My group is meeting up in Mena around 5pm. Anyone interested in meeting up at Boonville after 1pm on June 2? I don't have a set route so willing to work with ya if interested. Let me know. I hit the road early on June 1 and will be off the board until my return on Sunday.

Hope to meet some of you.

Woot!I'm game, I get off at 1:00 and taking time to get ready I could be in Booneville by 2:00 or so unless you want to come this way as we could probably pick up kdog and maybe my bro. I'll talk to ya later, Dave

I'd be game to go to Danville if it means hooking up with other riders. As I'm unfamiliar with the region, timing might be a little iffy with me.

Woot!If your gonna be in Booneville around 1 and dont have to be in Mena til 5 or so you can stop worrying right now I know several different decent routes and we'll still have time to spare. I can come to Booneville or you can come to Danville its only 32 miles straight shot. But its a better ride coming this way and then going to mena. Talk to ya Later, Dave

Big Dave,

I'll plan to go to Danville. You set the time.

Woot!OK lets say around 2:00 at Fowlers Family Resturant which is on the left side of the highway just as soon as you start to come into town and after you cross the Petit Jean river theres a sign outside so you should see it. Its a very small town of about 2,000 so if my directions suck very bad all you'll have to do is turn around and not blink the second time and you should be able to find it OK. If that fails just wait and listen for my sideburner since our main street is so tight it really echos off the buildings. Cya then, Dave
